HAWP
Species-Specific Climate Adaptation and Resilience Building Programs
Given the Horn of Africa’s vulnerability to climate change, HAWP works to develop climate adaptation strategies that support biodiversity and enhance community resilience. These efforts include:
Climate Education and
Awareness:
We educate communities on climate impacts and promote water conservation, drought-resistant farming, and other sustainable practices that help them adapt to shifting environmental conditions.
Restoration of Climate-Sensitive Areas:
By rehabilitating wetlands, restoring vegetation cover, and protecting water sources, we help ecosystems and communities become more resilient to the extreme weather patterns that increasingly define the region.
